History Yogyakarta spesial Territory

    
    Before 1755, the mataram kingdom was wellknown as united and unimpaired with surakarta as the capital. After the Gianti negotiation (palihan nagari) in 1755, it split into two kingdoms, nagari Surakarta Hadiningrat (Surakarta Hadiningrat Kingdom) and nagari Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat (Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Kindom) with Ngayogyakarta as the capital.
     After that (1755) Prince mangkubumi, the younger brother of Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono II became the king of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Kingdom with the title Sultan Hamengkubuwono I, In 1755 there was "the Salatiga Negotiation " which resulted in the founding of Kadipaten Mangkunegaran and since then Raden Mas said or Prince Sambar Nyawa has been the prince bearing the title of Pangeran Mangkunegoro I. Raden Mas Said of Prince Mangkunegoro I was the son of prince Mangkunegoro Kartosuro, the older brother of Susuhunan Pakubuwono II
    In 1813, the period of British colonial occupation, there was a split for the fourth time which happened in Mataram, that was when the Kadipaten Paku Alaman was Founded. Prince Notokusumo, the son of Sri Sultan Hamengkubowono I became the prince and ruled an area which was now in dependent from the authority of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat's Kingdom. He was given the title of Pangeran Paku Alam I
     After 1813, the Mataram Kindom was devided info four Kindoms : Nagari Surakarta Hadiningrat (Kasunanan), Nagari Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat (Kasultanan), Kadipaten Mangkunegaran and Kadipaten Paku Alaman. the territory of those four kingdoms had originated from the mataram kindom and at that time refered to as Tanah Kejawen (java land)
     Before the government of the Indonesian Republic officially established Yogyakarta Spesial Territory as an independent area, it alredy existed independently having been established in 1945 by Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Sri Paku Alam VIII together with the people. This was stated by both Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Sri Paku Alam VIII just after the freedom of The Indonesian. Republic was proclaimed and both of them supported the Republic. The territory of kasultananYogyakarta and the territory of Paku Alam joined to become part of the Indonesian Republic torritory. They joined together and were given status of Yogyakarta special territory. The following can be the reference :
1. The position charter of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Sri Paku Alam VIII dated August 19, 1945 from the Presiden of Republic of Indonesia
2. Declaration No 18-1945
3. The mandates of Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Sri Paku Alam VIII daded on September 5, 1945 (which were made separetely)
4. The mandate of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX and Sri Paku Alam VIII dated on October 30, 1945 (which was made togeher)
